Sticky Chicky Season

Peak foliage has certainly passed us by up here in the NEK. There are more and more sticks on the trees rather than the array of colors that I saw just a few days ago.

This, for example, was taken on Friday of last week…

And these are the same trees on today’s walk with Jen…

Stick season is certainly in the mail at this point, which is always a little bleak until the very first snow that sticks. Historically that’s been sometime between Black Friday and the first week of December, but who knows what’s in store anymore where the weather’s concerned…

As for the chickys, we’ve moved them out of the laundry room and into the mud room. And they are not happy about it.

That’s an understatement, Monkey Boy.
This new crew has a serious case of RBF.

Once all those weird fluffy bits come off and they’re fully feathered out, which will probably be in a week or so, we’ll move them out to the coop and let them become part of the flock.

And man…I am not looking forward to the drama and violence of those days.

Okay, back to work. See you tomorrow.
