Hibernating

We had yet another in a line of pretty slow weekends.

We did, as promised, run out to get Daphne her cupcakes on Friday night. And her father, not one to be outdone, loaded up the rest of the basket with piles of random junk food. (Ice cream, tater tots, frozen pizza…)

Don’t judge.

Jen quite helpfully rationalized this by mentioning all the physical work that I’d been doing that week. Although I will sheepishly admit here that I didn’t quite get to the entire stack of wood…

And, of course, it got snowed on too.

So now I’ve two Stacks of Shame. Although this one I actually will have to do something about, since it’s piled in our driveway.

Other than that, we really didn’t get very ambitious. Jen needed a few things from Office Depot, so we took a Littleton trip on Saturday. But for the rest of the weekend we just hung out indoors and away from the cold. Like one does in Vermont in January.

Saturday night turned out to be one of the coldest ones of winter for us so far. When I came into the kitchen to make coffee on Sunday morning it was still reading as -16° outside.

halp.

It was so cold, in fact, that our shower pipes froze…

Of course that was the one that I didn’t set to drip overnight…

Fortunately, after about 30 minutes of letting it trickle, it did eventually thaw and Jen and I got to shower.

In other news, this week’s Jeremiah Stories video is up here:

And that’s it for today. See you tomorrow.
