It’s always hard to go back to work after the holiday, particularly the Thanksgiving one. And, as a project manager, it can be particularly challenging because everyone is just kinda going through the motions since Christmas/New Year’s are just around the corner.
Speaking of the looming holidays, I want to give a shout out to my wife. For a couple of reasons.
First, for the Christmas decorations. Our house looks absolutely beautiful, year after year, because of everything she does decorating for the holidays. (See the post about this here.) It’s entirely on brand for a Christmas tree farm, but it wouldn’t happen without her and she does it fantastically well.
Secondly, for the amount of dedication and work she’s put into her writing this year, having multiple stories published. (Her newest one is here.)

I am fantastically proud of her talent, her bravery, and her determination in willing a dream that she’s had for decades into reality.

I’m an incredibly lucky man to have her in my life, and am looking forward to a slow, cozy holiday season by the fire with her.
In other wintry news, Burke Mountain’s opening day is this Saturday. And so Sir Carbs-a-lot here needs to drop some extra ell bees that he’s been toting around for the past few months…otherwise I’m going to blow out my knees when I try to go snowboarding.
I’ve swiched up my breakfasts to some kind of smoothy-ish thing this week…

Hopefully that change and a bit of walking/yoga should get me part of the way. From there it’ll be a few trips of 2-4 runs down the hill while I build back the core/leg muscles required.
That said, I’m going to be 50 this year…so maybe it’ll take more than a few cautious trips.
Okay, see you tomorrow.
