Thanks

So today marks the last day of my work week; I’m taking the next 4 days off. As such this will also be my last post until after the Thanksgiving holiday. (Yes, I take vacations from blogging too.)

Because we’re leaving to see family at one point this week, we decorated for Christmas a bit earlier than we might’ve otherwise.

One of you is coming with me.

I will say it was a rather inauspicious beginning, though…

Undeterred, we picked out our living room tree first.

This guy right here.
This is the determined/derpy look of a man who’s about to carry a 10′ fir tree on his shoulder for a quarter-mile.

After which, Jen picked out her little tree for the dining room.

Yes. Good. This one’s significantly closer to the front door…

Once back in the house, I’ll admit there was quite a bit of swearing as these two trees were installed into their respective tree stands. (Recall that I’m a sailor, so “quite a bit of swearing” means the Geto Boys would’ve likely become uncomfortable and left the room.)

But we got there.

[[Apparently the Christmas music playing in the background was picked up by YouTube and is copyrighted. Which means this video might be blocked wherever you are. Sorry. Blame Apple.]]

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Please be kind to one another.

j.s.
