Paid Time Off

Today was the first of my vacation days and yes, it’s been quite nice, thankyouverymuch.

I spent the morning on the couch next to the fire, coffee in hand, and read for an hour or so. Then messed about on the computer for a little while before taking a walk around the Christmas trees.

And since I wasn’t trying to rocket around the property line to get back in time for some random meeting, nor was I carefully watching my phone for IMs/emails, I got to just listen to music and look around at the world. And so I noticed little snow caps on the mushrooms…

And I just how many of our trees have been marked for harvesting this year…

I fear it’s going to look awfully stumpy out there after Thanksgiving. But, as I’ve said, it’s also nice that the trees that we get to enjoy every day will end up in someone else’s house where they’ll get to enjoy them…if only for a little while. (I think we get the better end of that deal, honestly.)

And I got to talk to the chickens, and ask them the truly important questions in life. Like, “Bev, what the hell is that?”

Tonight our plan is to head down to Lebanon to pick up a book that I’ve pre-ordered and is now in stock. And we’ve promised Daphne some Wendy’s while we’re down there.

Glad I took a walk…

Okay, see you tomorrow.
