It pains me to admit that I’m not particularly handy. At least I don’t often feel that way.
I couldn’t tell you how to build a shed, mix concrete, shingle a roof, post a fence, or wire a circuit. Hell, I can’t even cook a decent meal.
This is how we end up with vertically challenged beetle traps…

And the Leaning Tower of Postage…

You’ll also note there’s a tree branch behind the mailbox that’s in seriously rough shape. It snapped during a snowstorm this past winter and I’ve yet to deal with it. This is partly because I’ve been busy with dozens of other projects but mostly because I feel like I’d need to contact my insurer for pre-authorization prior to attempting to operate a chainsaw.
It’s also why we have air conditioner units in our windows that look like this…

Worse, I tend to believe the things I read on the Internet when I’m researching how to do/deal with this stuff. For example, today I read, “did you know you can totally kill wasps with WD-40? It clogs up their pores until they keel over dead!“

So now I have slippery stealth wasps with chronic acne living in the eaves of Daphne’s skylight.
Thanks Internet!
And yet, despite all this, I somehow remain blindly unaverse to continuing to attempt these projects. It’s wholly unfounded hubris that, more often than not, ends up somehow buffeting me along to a quasi-successful, mostly unplanned, ending. (With an embarrassing number of unforced errors along the way.)
And the whole thing is set to an internal monologue of, “Man, Jer, you’re totally getting better at this kinda thing!”

No, mate… You’re really not.

So proud of you for learning all these new things! utube is your friend! Remember we all learned by trial and error♥️
