Sub Weather

Hi all.

So I’ve been suffering from a moderate cold for the past few days. As such the minutes that I’d normally spend typing here have been replaced by a similar time under a blanket on the couch, watching Pirates of the Caribbean and whining.

“It will be impossible for me to recover from a malaise such as this one. Call the CDC.”

As for Friday, Jen and I went up to the mountain to spend the morning skiing/snowboarding. The powder wasn’t quite as good as on Thursday, however any day spent on the hill (without having to be carted away in an ambulance) is a good one.

Otherwise things are as slow as they should be in January in northern Vermont. Most days we have highs in the 20’s and lows are in the single digits.

So we typically spend January and February curled up indoors under blankets for the most part.

With daily treks to release/lock the chickens up, of course.

Daphne has been doing fine. There haven’t been any more issues of late with the boy who’s supposed to be kept away from her, so that’s been a positive development since the holidays ended.

It is, however, keeping her from Tuesday “winter activity” days at school, though. Because we’re not sure exactly which activity this boy is in, we’re hesitant to allow her to join her classmates in their skiing/skating/bowling days. So instead she’s just been getting short days on Tuesdays, with family snuggle time on the couch.

This has been found to be acceptable.

See you tomorrow.
