I’ve just 3 more days of work left before I’m off for the Thanksgiving holiday. And yes, I’m counting.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about the specifics of that event once it’s over.
Speaking of turkeys, and at risk of further holiday co-mingling, we’ve given thought to getting a turkey or two on our farm.

Jen has always been rather partial to turkeys.
No, I’m not referring to myself.

And yes, before you ask, this was a thing long before we ever moved up here.

Every one of of the Thanksgiving dinners at our house in Texas (10 in all!) were served on these here turkey plates..

See?

A tradition that continues to this day…

Although obviously there’s fewer of us for dinner these days.
Anyway, we’ve discussed the possibility of getting a couple big birds. The problem there (well, one among several) is that I highly doubt they can live in the chicken coop with the other girls.

So this would necessitate some reasonable facsimile of A Turkey House, which sounds like it should be a 1950’s sitcom.

Alas, when one Googles “Turkey Houses” the result is being offered fantastic deals on Istanbulian real estate.

And given the size of an average turkey, such an endeavor requires way more than a simple chicken coop. We’d essentially need a small cottage out back, populated by oversized tryptophan vessels…which we’d never actually eat.

Yes, our outdoor bird pets would need to have their own house built for them.
And so I’m afraid it’s going to have to wait.
