Federal regulations require me to warn you that this new template is…looking pretty good.
Yes, that’s a very old gaming reference. And my fellow grognards might’ve noticed that it’s not the first one from that particular game since I’ve been back here…
Speaking of “being back,” today marks 4 complete weeks since I picked up the bloggy habit again, which is enough time that I figured I should spruce things up a little around here. (Meaning: change from the default blog template.) It’s not markedly different, but enough so that I thought I’d mention it. There are links to years past of blogging, and generally speaking it should look better on a mobile device. Or at least it does from the very limited testing I’ve done so far…
Okay!
So yesterday Daphne got to go on a school field trip to the Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium in St. Johnsbury and Jen went along to chaperone.

As were the beach ball launch tubes.

This was our first trip to the local museum. Daphne spent a couple hours here and I’m told the staff couldn’t have been nicer. It’s also great that they have a quiet room for kids on the spectrum or, honestly, for anyone that might be feeling a little overwhelmed.
If it turns out this is something she loves doing we’ll absolutely become a regular patron/supporter of this place. Particularly during the summer when we’re looking around for things to during inclement weather days. (I wonder if they’re air-conditioned?)
Might have to add it to The List.
Oh, “The List.” Right.
That’s probably a story for another post. The short version is: we printed a checklist of the adventures we have planned for Daphne this summer, all in varying fonts, colors, and styles according to what we’re doing. It’s currently stuck to the fridge, awaiting our completionist checkmarks.
“Camping at Lake Maidstone” is actually on The List, and while we’re no longer heading that way tonight there’s a possibility that we’ll drive up tomorrow with some gear and see how things go… Daphne has been tapping “beach! beach! beach!” on her talker quite a bit, and we’d really like to get her out for her first swim trip of the year.

I actually booked a half-day of PTO today in the expectation that we’d be leaving early. So I suddenly have an entire Friday afternoon off of work with no plans. I think a nap with my wife might be among the best possible ways to spend that time before we pick Daphne up from school…
See you next week.
